I am a fan of the real Fiona。 I followed her growth and care after she was born prematurely at the Cincinnati Zoo。 I visited the Zoo and Botanical Gardens to see Fiona and hope now to return and see her new brother Fritz。 This Fiona adventure focuses on Love at the zoo and features rhyming words。 The cheery illustrations of many zoo animals perfectly accompany the story。 Children can enjoy the story and animals whether or not they know Fiona is based on a real hippo。 This is a book to read to sm I am a fan of the real Fiona。 I followed her growth and care after she was born prematurely at the Cincinnati Zoo。 I visited the Zoo and Botanical Gardens to see Fiona and hope now to return and see her new brother Fritz。 This Fiona adventure focuses on Love at the zoo and features rhyming words。 The cheery illustrations of many zoo animals perfectly accompany the story。 Children can enjoy the story and animals whether or not they know Fiona is based on a real hippo。 This is a book to read to small children of read by K-2 (and up)。 Thank you to NetGalley and Zonderkidz for an ARC in exchange for a review。 。。。more

This was such a lovely book。 The illustrations were beautiful and added so much to the whole feel of the book。 Fiona, goes round the zoo seeing how some of the other show each other love。 If you have young children they would love this book and I would recommend it。

He loves the zoo and seeing that it was Fiona had him really excited。 It’s such a sweet book and perfect for Valentine’s Day! He kept “aww-ing” throughout this book。 For us this was a hit from the beginning but I think your kids would love it without knowing who Fiona is。 It’s about animals at the zoo and love, what could be better?! There’s also some rhyming in here, which I appreciated。I highly recommend this one if you are from the area or love Fiona! Even if you don’t… I think your kids will still enjoy it!Many thanks to Netgalley and Zonderkidz for an e-arc to review。 。。。more

I’m completely underwhelmed by this book, I don’t really see any point to the storyline, its about love, Fiona the hippo has her love (her baby)。 Also I struggle to see anything that I could use for teaching, as there are better books out there to show off animals。 I wouldn’t pick this book for that reason, however if you have a strong affection for the Fiona stories, then you will love this one too。The illustrations are however very beautiful, a lot of cuddling animals…

Advanced (ebook) copy review: This was a super fun read that my 7yr old and I enjoyed together。 In this book Cincinnati Zoo's world famous hippopotamus, Fiona, takes a journey around the zoo and sees how her animal friends show affection and love。 The reader learns about how different animals at the zoo show love to their families and friends。 Some share the food, some snuggle, some boop noses, and at the end Fiona shows us her favorite way to show love to her hippo friends and family Advanced (ebook) copy review: This was a super fun read that my 7yr old and I enjoyed together。 In this book Cincinnati Zoo's world famous hippopotamus, Fiona, takes a journey around the zoo and sees how her animal friends show affection and love。 The reader learns about how different animals at the zoo show love to their families and friends。 Some share the food, some snuggle, some boop noses, and at the end Fiona shows us her favorite way to show love to her hippo friends and family 。。。more

The Fiona books continue to be adorable and fun to read! They're popular with the kids at my library and it's good to see there will be more for them to read。My only grievance was with the fact that when some of the animal couples were shown one was given eyelashes (the first example I noticed was with the swan), I assume to show they were feminine, even though everything else about the illustrations was realistic and otherwise enjoyable。 Thank you to NetGalley and Zonderkidz for making this ava The Fiona books continue to be adorable and fun to read! Fiona’s book about love at the zoo is fantastic。 I loved the rhyming prose and think my first graders would love using this book to studying rhyme。 I think it’s a wonderful book when rhythms like Boynton to introduce children from a very young age to the animals they can see at the zoo。 Highly recommend! The beautifully detailed and colorful illustrations and rhyming text tell a sweet story about how animals at the zoo show affection for one another。 The real life Fiona is a well known hippo from the Cincinnati Zoo, but you don’t need to visit the zoo to fall in love with the Fiona books (although it might give you a great reason to take a trip there!)Fiona, Love at the Zoo would make the perfect baby shower or Valentines Day gift。 There is even space at the beginning of the book to write a spec The beautifully detailed and colorful illustrations and rhyming text tell a sweet story about how animals at the zoo show affection for one another。 The real life Fiona is a well known hippo from the Cincinnati Zoo, but you don’t need to visit the zoo to fall in love with the Fiona books (although it might give you a great reason to take a trip there!)Fiona, Love at the Zoo would make the perfect baby shower or Valentines Day gift。 There is even space at the beginning of the book to write a special message to dedicate the book (This book is for: With Lots of Love From: On this date:)Thank you to the publisher and Net Galley for the advance digital copy in exchange for an honest review。 。。。more

Fiona, Love at the Zoo, is a sweet rhyming tale of how animals show their love for one another accompanied by gorgeous pictures。 Little (and big) kids will love the pictures of the adorable animals and all readers will appreciate the easy cadence and soft rhythms。 The end strayed from the cadence a bit, which was a little jarring, but overall, a sweet tale for all animal lovers。 Thank you to Zonderkidz and NetGalley for the advance electronic copy and the chance to review this adorable tale。

Fiona, Love at the zoo I enjoyed watching Fiona the Hippo growing up in front of the camera and I am excited for this book。 In this story, Fiona takes us on a tour of the zoo。 We meet several interesting animals and learn how each animal shows their love。The stars of the show, for me, were the adorable and incredibly detailed animal portraits。 This picture book is colorful and should hold your child's attention。 This is a super sweet book that would be a great choice for any library。 Thank you, Fiona, Love at the zoo I enjoyed watching Fiona the Hippo growing up in front of the camera and I am excited for this book。 In this story, Fiona takes us on a tour of the zoo。 We meet several interesting animals and learn how each animal shows their love。The stars of the show, for me, were the adorable and incredibly detailed animal portraits。 This picture book is colorful and should hold your child's attention。 This is a super sweet book that would be a great choice for any library。 Thank you, NetGalley and Zonderkidz, for providing me with a digital ARC for an honest review。  。。。more
